Thank You!

As 2011 comes to a close I just wanted to say 'Thank You' to everyone who has dropped by my blog and left words of encouragement.
I made my first quilt in may 2011 and decided to set up a blog. Since then I have met so many friends along the way who have not only encouraged me with their kind comments but have been an inspiration to me. I have been involved in swaps from mini quilts to needle cases which were great fun. I have received beautiful gifts from amazing talented quilters and artists. I have enjoyed visiting all your blogs and sharing in your day to day adventures.
I am looking forward to what 2012 will bring and what new friends we will meet along the way.
Happy New Year to you all.
May the lord bless you and keep you all
Love Siobhan x

Crochet

An updated picture of throw.

I decided to use some odds and ends of wool and crochet a hexagon throw. I still have a long way to go!

In the rain.

I finished this little mini quilt complete with beads and stitching  for my good friend Ashley. I hand stitched the binding and I was delighted how well it turned out. Well, I think it is quite neat :)

We can do it! Skill builder sampler.

http://sewnbyleila.blogspot.com/2011/05/we-can-do-it-skill-builder-sampler.html Leila at Sewn has designed this sampler so that a beginning quilter can easily move from block to block and build their quilting skills. Pop over and check it out, it looks like fun.

Thank you

Thank you for all your comments I really appreciate it. It is very encouraging.

First quilt completed

Amy at Amy's Creative Side is hosting the Spring 2011 Bloggers' Quilt Festival.  I have just started learning how to quilt and this is my finished quilt. The fabric was  picked out by my daughter as she thought it was very bright and bold. It now takes pride of place in the bedroom and it definitely brightens up the small room. I am so happy that it turned out so well as it was my first attempt. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you at Amy's Creative Side.
